Lanchkhuti is known for its Gurian trick horse riders, who have achieved great notoriety in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in US show business, most notably with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. While with the show, they were known as the Russian Cossacks. The Lanchkhuti museum has much of their history and personal belongings on display, as well as other interesting archaeological and ethnographic materials.
Besides the riders, Lanchkhuti is a native town of politicians. The first of the founding leaders of Georgia were from Lanchkhuti, among them Noe Jordania. His monument is in the center of Lanchkhuti, behind the administrative building.
